Trusted and comfortable Airport Shuttle Really friendly driver that came with a comfortable and clean vehicle. The driver took time to engage with us and give us history, as well as stop on the way to point out specific items and areas. Recommended!

Amazing expiernce with great service We were a group of 8 people traveling from Harare to Lusaka in a four day trip. Chris arranged an amazing tour based on our wishes. We had a long transit form Harare to Victoria falls town, it was arranged that we all could share one vehicle with big windows so that we could see everything on the way. We had an amazing tour of Vitoria falls on both Zimbabwe and Zambian side of the border, and Chris was very helpful with crossing the borders on the entire trip. We experienced a game drive and rhino walk in Zambia. After this we had a one day safari trip to Botswana with a game drive and river cruise. All very amazing and Chris is a man of knowledge and kindness, which has made the trip an experience for life. Lastly we drove from living stone to Lusaka, another long transit, but with great attitude and again learning a lot about the Zambian community on the way! Would definitely recommend Chris taxi and tours, for their knowledge, great staff, service and accuracy! All for a reasonable price;)

Just great! We were a groupe of 8 Norwegians that spent 4 days with Chris. He took us on a game drive, boat safari and to Victoria falls. He also had two very long transits with us. We were super happy with Chris! He did his best at all times to make the experience great for us, and I cannot recommend him any more! Not only is he a service minded person that want to make the best of the trip, but he is also a great guy and interesting person to get to know. Cheers from Norway, Chris!😊

Not a reliable agency Booked a return trip with Chris Tours. One way was great. The driver was there and picked up. The return was a mess. Landed up having to take a taxi. We ran out of time due to this. As well as the fact that I paid Chris Tours for the whole trip. He has thus far been unwilling/unable to provide any kind of refund. Disappointing service.

Great Transport Comapny I used Chris Tours for transport from Victoria Falls Airport to the Waterfront in Zambia. They greeted me with a sign at the airport, were timely, and helped with the boarder crossing. 10/10 would recommend Chris Tours.

efficient and reliable transfer service! Chris Tours provided our transfer from the Avani in Livingstone to the Livingstone airport. We found Chris on TripAdvisor and booked with the company because of the positive reviews. Booking and communication via email with Golden was very easy and he confirmed via email several days prior to our arrival. While the Avani offered to provide the transfer at half the price, we stuck with Chris Tours because of their professionalism and easy of communication; we felt comfortable paying a bit extra just for peace of mind. Our driver arrived on time and provided a short tour of Livingstone on our way to the airport. If we are ever in the area again, would definitely reach out to Chris Tours for assistance. Crossing the various borders between Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia is not necessarily easy to navigate without the help of locals and I'm sure that Chris would be a valuable resource when needed. Thank you for making our departure from Livingstone easy!

Travel dates back to antiquity where wealthy Greeks and Romans would travel for leisure to their summer homes and villas in cities such as Pompeii and Baiae. While early travel tended to be slower, more dangerous, and more dominated by trade and migration, cultural and technological advances over many years have tended to mean that travel has become easier and more accessible. Mankind has come a long way in transportation since Christopher Columbus sailed to the new world from Spain in 1492, an expedition which took over 10 weeks to arrive at the final destination; to the 21st century where aircraft allow travel from Spain to the United States overnight.

Travel in the Middle Ages offered hardships and challenges, however, it was important to the economy and to society. The wholesale sector depended (for example) on merchants dealing with/through caravans or sea-voyagers, end-user retailing often demanded the services of many itinerant peddlers wandering from village to hamlet, gyrovagues (Wandering Monks) and wandering friars brought theology and pastoral support to neglected areas, traveling minstrels practiced the never-ending tour, and armies ranged far and wide in various crusades and in sundry other wars. Pilgrimages were common in both the European and Islamic worlds and involved streams of travelers both locally (Canterbury Tales-style) and internationally.

Story Teller

In the late 16th century it became fashionable for young European aristocrats and wealthy upper-class men to travel to significant European cities as part of their education in the arts and literature. This was known as the Grand Tour, it included cities such as London, Paris, Venice, Florence, and Rome. However, The French revolution brought with it the end of the Grand Tour.

Travel by water often provided more comfort and speed than land-travel, at least until the advent of a network of railways in the 19th century. Travel for the purpose of tourism is reported to have started around this time when people began to travel for fun as travel was no longer a hard and challenging task. This was capitalized on by people like Thomas Cook selling tourism packages where trains and hotels were booked together. Airships and airplanes took over much of the role of long-distance surface travel in the 20th century, notably after the Second World War where there was a surplus of both aircraft and pilots. Indeed, air travel has become so ubiquitous in the 21st century that one woman, Alexis Alford, visited all 196 countries before the age of 21.
